Looking at the modest, robust twenty-something Matt Goud its hard to imagine he once was a wild, punk loving musician. Plans morphed in pursuit of his dreams and today has his own unstoppable sound under the name Northcote (a reflection upon his youth spent in the great Northern city of Yellowknife). His fortei? A rock singer with folk and punk influence that goes a step further. Evolving through the phase of identity crisis, which all twenty year olds go through, he hit a new level. He chose to leave Regina and the mosh pits behind to explore new music; his recent works are compilations of Soul and Blues. Now, having more fun, Matt stated, “Punk was much more serious.” Matt formerly toured with the Wooden sky and Yukonblonde, Chuck Ragan, Dave Hause and Tim Barry. The popular ZONE 91.3FM grabbed Matt’s tune – How Can You Turn Around (touch of Bruce Springsteen) – as April 2013’s Band of the Month. With bated breathe Victoria awaits more from Northcote.
