It was shortly after Mike “the Bike” Harrington created a custom chopper bike for his son’s fourth birthday that he had the idea to start a local bicycle club providing opportunities to youth in the community. The Angels Chopper Bike Club offers youth a safe place to work in mentored environments refurbishing bikes and learning skills. The clubs’ ride share program means no member goes without a bike. Members go on rides and attend community events together. They have also developed a food program (Food Angels) for those in need. The club is known for their celebrity tribute choppers that include the Ozzy chopper, Selena Gomez, Deep Purple, The Royals, Gene Simmons and more. One of the members, Tony Harrington, made a tribute bike for Chris Cornell and then gave it to the artist who now rides it out on stage for shows! Mike and the club have a vision – to find help with ongoing funding, a club house, and a transport vehicle.
